LOAD INSERTS
|
The core of any load business is control of absorber materials used. Microsorb division test and characterise all incoming materials.
These materials are generally ceramic or carbonyl iron loaded epoxy or silicone rubber based at lower levels. The use of silicone carbide for higher power levels is normal although more novel materials are indicated in some applications. The technical team will be happy to discuss your specific questions in relation to specific needs.
Frequency range of our inserts extend from 1 GHz to 100 GHz at this time.
How to specify?
The most important dimension generally is that designated A. When specifying load inserts it is desirable to make contact as early as possible with our engineering assistance team in order to realise your design aims.
When considering designs the following information is vital:
- Waveguide size
- Power handling, peak and mean where applicable
- Environmental conditions, i.e. Ambient temperature, temperature range etc.
- Outgassing or any specific environmental constraints of the load inset itself
- There is a natural trade off between cost/design and material, it is useful to indicate that at stage 1.
There are numerous potential options here. Mould tooling for low cost silicon rubber based options is normally surprisingly economical.
