The story itself isn't particularly thrilling, but we enjoyed it and have read it a few times since then since the real interest is in seeing all the different places they go to. It talked about a child visiting London’s landmarks and was a good summary portrayed in a captivating way for kids. One of the Trafalgar Square lions comes to life and takes them on a wonderful tour of all the best sights Including Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Big Ben and the London Eye.Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids.

This picture book mingles fantasy with information most successfully… a lively introduction to some of the main London sights within the context of an appealing story…The text keeps up the pace of the story and includes a lot of convincing dialogue. Ella Bella Ballerina and The Sleeping Beauty' was James' first title featuring the adorable Ella Bella, and has been illustrated using a new delightfully retro art style. Not only is it informative about the features of the incredible city, but the illustrations allow the reader to create vivid images in their head. Journeying through London's busy streets, crammed with red buses, black taxis, parks and grand buildings, we even squeeze in a visit to Buckingham Palace and see the Changing of the Guard!
In a city with so much exciting and interesting aspects, we should encourage our children to embrace it,, and this book presents an opportunity to do just that. When Katie and her cousin Jack visit London with Grandma, they don’t think there’s much to see and do. He has made regular appearances at the National Galleries in Edinburgh and London and visits many schools, and arts and literary festivals. The illustrations aren't that thrilling and I'm not crazy about the stupid lion coming to life, but the whirlwind tour is nice. Children's books set in London are always popular and this is a particularly charming story of a girl having an adventure riding one of the Trafalgar Square lions. He has published over 60 books, and illustrated and written for many other colleagues including Philippa Pearce, Martin Waddell and Jackie Morris.
For art you could use this book to get the children to make a poster all about the sights of London - including pictures and words. This uses the same similar concept in most of James Mayhews books when Katie whilst with her grandma and brother visit a museum, Scotland etc.We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child.
