Installation of systems or waveguide runs require 6
fundamental elements.

Survey
Credowan personnel have years of experience of surveys in many different environments. As a very critical part of the project it is imperative that the survey is carried out correctly and accurately.
Design
All special requirements, standards and specifications will be established at this stage. The drawing office and planning departments will become involved from this point. Design teams will be responsible from the survey stage and involved throughout the contract to ensure best practise and close conformance to the agreed specification.
Planning
Routing of the WG run, length, number of bends, twists and joints must be kept to a minimum to ensure the best Microwave performance and reliable pressure tight system.
Manufacture
The manufacture of the waveguide runs is carried out at our factory. The main points to be aware of when selecting the materials and finish are the environment and application of the systems.
Credowan can advise on relevant standards and specifications to be adhered to.
Testing of runs is carried out during manufacture and mechanical and electrical testing of individual parts is normal practice prior to completion.
Installation

Assembly and Installation of a waveguide run should be treated as precision engineering work and only undertaken by suitably trained and experienced staff.
Clamping and fitting is carried out with care to ensure there is no distortion to the cross-section of the waveguide tube.
Protection of the waveguide run at all times is paramount as any ingress of foreign objects or moisture can severely degrade and potentially damage the system.
Bolted waveguide joints are carefully handled and stress avoided when tightening joints.
Correct use of shims, gaskets and 'O' rings is essential.
Trained staff are essential to maintain the level of expertise required to complete a successful installation, one which will perform to its full potential.
